Biography:
Mr. Martin has more than 10 years in administrative experience in both high education and K-12 education.  In addition, he has more than 17 years of experience in operations management, and business development.  Presently, he is the Managing Director for the Confucius Institute at WKU, President/CEO of Martin Global Enterprises LLC, and Co-Founder/Partner of BG Education Management Solutions.  He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Confucius Institute at WKU Chinese teacher program, in which he builds and develops relationships with schools throughout the state of Kentucky to offer Chinese language and culture classes within their schools.  Presently, the CI at WKU is in 22 school districts, in 48 K-12 schools, and reaching more than 19,000 students throughout the state of Kentucky.  As part of the Confucius Institute at WKU management team, he was instrumental in establishing a fully articulated K-12 Chinese language curriculum.  In addition, he has developed, managed and led more than 13 delegations of more than 200 individuals to China as part of various programs such as Traditional Chinese Medicine, Education, Business, Chinese language and culture, and high school programs.  As the President/CEO of Martin Global Enterprises, he is responsible for developing partnerships with local high schools to create cultural educational exchanges.  Presently, he is finishing a contract with Nanchang #3 Middle School on an "American Immersion" program with  27 individuals for a 6-week American educational experience from February – April of 2018 through Martin Global Enterprises, LLC.

Biography:
Dr. Pan has more than 30 years of teaching and administrative experience in higher education. He is presently the Assistant to the President of WKU, Director of the Confucius Institute at WKU, Emeritus Sumpter Professor of Chemistry, and Co-Founder/Partner of BG Education and Management Solutions. He is a world-renown researcher and scientist in the area of “Clean Coal Technology.” He has been a faculty member teaching Chemistry at WKU, and has guest lecture at Universities in both China and Taiwan. As part of the Confucius Institute at WKU management team, he was instrumental in establishing a fully articulated K-12 Chinese language curriculum. Led the CI at WKU to being named the CI of the Year in 2013, and Model CI of the Year in 2015. With being recognized as a Model CI of the Year, Hanban/CI Headquarters provided $2 million dollars to the building of a Model CI Building on the campus of WKU for the continuation of the Chinese language and culture. Through his research collaborations he has generated more than $17 million dollars for WKU, and through the CI at WKU has generated more than $19 million dollars.

Biography:
Dr. Kay ha a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and and Educational Leadership Doctorate (Ed.D) from Western Kentucky University. She has 15 years of small business consulting experience, and equally as much (experience) in Higher Education, Human Resource Management, Corporate training, and Curriculum Design. Dr. Kay has worked in the capcity of faulty, teaching Business and Leadership, and is an avid blogger, motivational speaker, and an eductor and transformation consultant. She is the President/CEO of Simone Samone Consulting, and speaks to many groups on the following topic:

Biography:
Mr. Proffitt has more than 29 years of teaching and administrative experience in K-12 education. He is a retired Superintendent of Cloverport Independent Schools in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, and Dawson Springs. Presently, he works for the Confucius Institute at WKU program, where he has helped establish a fully articulated K-12 Chinese language curriculum, which is used for all 19,000 students registered in the CI at WKU program. Mr. Proffitt has been training teachers for more than 20 years, and understands both the traditional and new age approaches toward education, specifically on how to be an effective "teacher."

Ms. Li Bo

Biography:
She received her bachelor degree from the Foreign Language Institute of Harbin Normal University and Master's degree in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language from Newcastle University Upon Tyne, UK.  Since 2007, she has been working at the International Education College of North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), taking charge of international student affairs while teaching courses in "Introduction to China" and "Intermediate Chinese Language Listening." At the same time, she was also involved in building the curriculum of "Power Chinese." She started working for the CI at WKU in 2015 under the auspices of NCEPU and Hanban. In the capacity of a director from China, she is assisting the director of CI at WKU in building partnerships with various Chinese universities.
